Getting Started
We’re excited to begin the process of migrating your email to Revive Email. To ensure everything goes smoothly, we’ll need you to follow the steps below to provide us with the necessary access. This will allow us to securely transfer your emails without any interruptions to your workflow.
Steps to Create Your App-Specific Password:
1. Log in to your Gmail account.
2. Visit this link to create an app-specific password:
3. Give it a name, such as ‘Revive Migration,’ for easy identification.
4. Google will generate a 16-character password. Please share this password with us along with the email address associated with your Gmail account.
This app-specific password will allow us to transfer your emails securely without needing your regular password.
Once the migration is complete, you can optionally return and delete the App-Specific password.

How the Migration Works
Our migration process is done in two runs to ensure you don’t miss any emails:
First Run
This initial transfer will move the majority of your emails, including all past messages and folders, to Revive Email. After this run, you’ll be able to start using your new email system while still receiving new emails in Gmail.
Second Run
Once the initial migration is complete we will do a second run. This will capture any emails received during the transition and ensure nothing is missed.
With this two-step process, you won’t miss any messages, and all your emails will be fully synchronized and accessible in your new Revive Email account.
Optional: Forwarding Emails from Gmail to Revive Email (After Migration):
If you’d like to continue forwarding any emails that arrive in your Gmail inbox to your new Revive Email address after the migration, you can set up automatic forwarding in Gmail. Here’s how:
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select See all settings.
- Navigate to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
- Under the Forwarding section, click Add a forwarding address.
- Enter your new Revive Email address (e.g., you@revive.email) and click Next.
- You will receive a confirmation code at your new Revive Email address. Check your inbox, copy the confirmation code, and return to Gmail.
- Paste the confirmation code and click Verify.
- After verifying, go back to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab and select the option to Forward a copy of incoming mail to [your Revive Email].
- (Optional) You can choose to either keep a copy of the emails in your Gmail inbox or have them automatically archived or deleted after forwarding.
This will ensure any future emails sent to your Gmail account are automatically forwarded to your new Revive Email, so you don’t have to worry about missing anything.
